APAI Receives WEAT/TAWWA WaterMark Honorable Mention
The Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT) and the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association (TAWWA) have awarded Alan Plummer Associates, Inc. (APAI) an honorable mention for their work on the Reclaimed Water Delivery System Public Awareness Program. The WaterMark Award for communications excellence recognizes Texas Section AWWA and WEAT members who have produced top-quality communications. This award was presented at the annual Texas Water 2012 Conference.
Arlington, Euless, and the Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport collaborated with the City of Fort Worth to construct the first phase of a reclaimed water system that would be served by Fort Worth’s Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility. Fort Worth contracted with APAI to evaluate and then design the 18-mgd pump station and 11.5-mile pipeline. To ensure consistent information and messaging were provided to the public, the four entities partnered to pursue common tasks associated with a public awareness campaign. APAI facilitated this process that included website content development, a brochure, common signage as required by TCEQ, and a common logo.
