Denton Creek Regional Wastewater System Master Plan Update, Trinity River Authority of Texas

The Denton Creek Regional Wastewater System Master Plan update addressed how to treat increased flows expected in the future due to growth in the service area while the discharge at the existing wastewater treatment plant had become limited due to state modeling of the backwater effects from Grapevine Lake. Plummer assisted the Trinity River Authority in identifying a system configuration that could potentially incorporate alternate discharge points, reuse opportunities, satellite plants, peak-flow storage, treatment in the collection system, and identify opportunities to reduce the sizing of parallel interceptors in the collection system. The Master Plan Update also identified the build-out capacity of the existing plant site, two treatment options based on current and future potential permit limits, odor control requirements, and a selected Class A Biosolids treatment option.
